Nói — Speak Vietnamese

Nói ("the app") is a Vietnamese pronunciation trainer. This statement explains what data the app handles and how.

No accounts, no sign-up. You don't create an account or give us a name, email, or any personal identifier to use the app.

Your voice recordings stay on your device. When you practice, your recording is scored on your device and is never uploaded to us or to any third party. Recordings are kept in the app's local cache only so you can play them back, and you can clear them by deleting the app.

Your learning data stays on your device. Scores, points, badges, streaks, stage progress, and practice history are stored locally on your device, tied to a local profile you create in the app. We don't collect, see, or sync this data — there's no cloud backup and no server-side copy.

What our server does receive. Our backend is a thin proxy that holds API keys so the app doesn't have to. It receives only what's needed to do its job, and none of it identifies you:

• Your practice level/stage, to generate practice items (via Anthropic's Claude).

• The text you want read aloud, to generate audio (via Microsoft Azure Text-to-Speech). Audio is cached and shared across users since it doesn't contain anything personal.

• General issue types (e.g. which tone or sound you're struggling with), to fetch or generate a coaching tip.

• A short-lived authorization token is issued so the app can run pronunciation scoring; this token doesn't carry your recording or identity.

None of these requests include your name, recordings, or device identity tied to you.

Third parties involved. We use Microsoft Azure (speech scoring and text-to-speech) and Anthropic (Claude, for generating practice content) as service providers. They process the limited, non-personal data described above under their own terms; we don't share anything else with them.

Subscriptions and payment. Nói is subscription-based with a free trial. Purchases and billing are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see or store your payment details. We only receive a receipt/entitlement status from the store to confirm access.

No ads, no analytics, no tracking. The app does not show ads, does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Children's privacy. The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, since it doesn't collect personal information from any user.

Changes. If this statement changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
