Real numbers, real challenges, and why the human still matters most.

Over the past few months, our team at Linx has been going deep with AI coding agents — specifically Claude Code — across a range of real client projects and our own products.

The results have reshaped how we think about delivery timelines, team structure, and what it actually means to be a developer in 2026. Here’s what we learned.

01 — Speed That Changes the Conversation

From Idea to App Store in 1.5 Days

We recently built two complete mobile apps — Handyman Job & Invoice Manager and Tour Maker — as MVPs. Each took roughly one day to develop and half a day to submit to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Both were approved on first submission.

These aren’t toy demos. Handyman handles job management, PDF invoicing, expense tracking, and full offline capability. Tour Maker manages vendors, seasonal pricing, CSV imports, and generates professional PDF quotations — all offline-capable.

We also delivered MVP web applications for property management and e-appraisal — projects that would have taken weeks using traditional workflows.

02 — Legacy Systems Don’t Have to Be Painful

3 Months → 1 Week

Legacy system upgrades are often the projects everyone dreads. What used to take us 2–3 months now takes about one week when we pair the right approach with AI assistance.

The key is methodology. Here’s the approach that works for us:

1. Identify every version in the gap — make incremental jumps, never a big leap.
2. Map the data layer that needs upgrading first.
3. Identify key workflows and business logic to test against.
4. Keep optimization and security at the forefront of every step.

AI accelerates the mechanical work, but a well-designed upgrade strategy is what makes it reliable.

03 — Building Complex Systems with AI

How We Built Ben ONE

Our flagship product Ben ONE is an all-in-one business mobile app covering financial dashboards, inventory, procurement (MR → PO → Invoice), full sales pipeline (Quote → SO → Invoice → Payment), HR self-service (leave, attendance, timesheets), CRM, and project management.

That kind of scope requires discipline. Our workflow:

Feature story → Clear implementation plan by A.I → Review the plan → Execute with AI → Thorough PR review (security & performance first)

The AI writes code fast. But without a rigorous review loop, speed becomes a liability. Every PR gets scrutinized for security and optimization before merging.

04 — The Honest Challenges

What Nobody Tells You About AI-Assisted Development

The mental model problem

AI can write code faster than your team can read it. That’s a real risk. If developers lose their mental model of the system, they lose the ability to make good architectural decisions, catch subtle bugs, and guide the AI effectively.

Our mitigation: every project maintains living .md documentation files right in the repo. These serve double duty — they keep the team aligned and give the AI agent the context it needs to make better decisions.

AI fatigue is real

When you can ship features in hours instead of weeks, it’s exhilarating — then exhausting. The volume of output creates its own cognitive load. We’ve learned to intentionally balance quality with quantity, and to step away.

More importantly: staying close to real users and real problems keeps you grounded. The AI doesn’t know your users. You are the bridge between what the technology can do and what people actually need. That role is more important now than ever.

What This Means for You

The Takeaway

AI coding agents are no longer experimental. They’re production-grade tools that can dramatically compress development timelines — if you have the right methodology, review discipline, and team awareness.

If you’re an IT leader evaluating how AI fits into your development process, or a business owner wondering whether your next project can ship faster without sacrificing quality — we’d love to share more about what’s working for us.
