01 Overview

Code Quest is a browser-based coding course that teaches children aged 9–15 to write real JavaScript by building games they actually want to play. A split-screen workspace pairs bite-sized lessons with a live game preview, so every concept turns into something on screen in seconds.

Learners work alongside Code Buddy, an AI teammate that can write, explain and fix code on request — while the child stays in charge, reading the code and deciding what's good. Progress is gamified with XP, levels, streaks and badges across five lessons and ten guided sessions, from a Cookie Clicker to a canvas-based Dodge game and a full Breakout build.

02 What we built

01

Learn + Build workspace

A split-screen classroom: guided lessons on the left, a live game preview on the right, so each idea becomes something playable immediately.

02

Code Buddy, the AI teammate

An in-app AI assistant writes, explains and debugs code on request — framed as a helper, not a boss: the learner still reads the code and calls the shots.

03

Gamified, trackable progress

XP, levels, daily streaks and unlockable badges across 5 lessons and 10 sessions keep young coders motivated and their growth easy to follow.

04

Real games, from scratch

Learners build genuine projects — Cookie Clicker, a quiz game, canvas motion and collision, and a complete Breakout — mastering variables, logic, game loops and state along the way.
